CMS Skin Substitutes Town Hall

Please join us for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Skin Substitutes Town Hall on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST.

We are requesting feedback from the public on specific questions related to changes in payment and terminology of skin substitute products under the Physician Fee Schedule (PFS). Interested parties have the opportunity to present and respond to these questions within a certain time slot during this Town Hall. Each presentation must contain a response to one or more of the questions listed here:

1) What should we consider as part of CMS efforts to ensure consistent, fair, and appropriate payment for services and products across different settings of care?

2) How could we ensure that valuation under the PFS adequately accounts for variability in relative resource costs of different skin substitute products as supplies within the Practice Expense Relative Value Unit (PE RVU) methodology?

3) Are there similarly resourced groups of products/services that could inform how payment might be stratified without risking access to services?

4) What should we consider as alternatives regarding any potential changes to terminology?

Please indicate in the registration link if you are interested in presenting a response to these questions at the Town Hall and CMS will follow up with further instructions. Please note we can only accept presentations on a first come, first served basis. CMS will individually contact the interested parties selected to present with further instructions at least one week prior to January 18, 2023.

**CMS cannot guarantee time slots for everyone interested in presenting their responses at this Town Hall. However, CMS will ensure that those who are unable to present during the CMS Skin Substitutes Town Hall will have the opportunity to submit their responses.**
